What does it mean to be a psychologist – psychotherapist who works within the humanistic paradigm as a psychologist, and within monodrama as a psychotherapist, while also respecting the psychodynamic approach (Freud’s theory), which laid the foundation for psychotherapy? I will describe this through a depiction of how my sessions concretely unfold with the application of all the aforementioned methods.
In Serbia, in Belgrade, I am waiting for you online, ready to become a safe space for those seeking understanding and support. I invite you to explore the matrix of your life from the comfort of your own home. In this intermediate space, dialogue and dramatization occur, leading to self-discovery under my guidance, using the humanistic paradigm (Rogers’ approach), psychodynamic approach (Freud’s personality theory), and psychodrama and monodrama techniques (Moreno’s approach).
In my interaction with each person, I strive to recognize the beauty in everyone. I believe that each individual is a unique universe, deserving of support that respects their uniqueness.
My goal is simple yet profound: to recognize each person’s potential and create a space where they can realize their possibilities and move towards true self-fulfillment.
Although I rely on the warmth of the humanistic approach, I respect the influence of the past, rooted in psychodynamic principles. This duality enriches my practice, allowing me to connect understanding of the past with hope for the future. I understand that to cope with the present, it is necessary to acknowledge the echoes of the past. Likewise, I understand that actions and activity have a direct impact, so I incorporate psychodrama and monodrama techniques into all of the above.
With empathy and the manifestation of my true self, I create an environment where thoughts and feelings flow freely. In our shared psychological space, judgment dissolves, making way for understanding and acceptance.
As you embark on your journey, I apply a holistic approach, encompassing your entire experience. I listen attentively, focusing on the present moment, helping you navigate the whirlwind of your emotions. Together, we work towards a common goal: liberation from suffering and the achievement of your self-actualization.
Gaining strength from your discoveries, you unlock your potentials, illuminating paths that were previously hidden.
The journey doesn’t end there. Deep within the psychodynamic approach, I encourage you to explore your unconscious. The goal is to uncover hidden patterns that govern your behavior. Together, we explore how past experiences shape your emotional reactions today.
In this way, you learn to recognize your defense mechanisms, gaining an understanding of the dynamics of transference and countertransference – how your feelings towards me reflect your relationships with the outside world.
And then there are dreams… mysterious stories whispering secrets from the unconscious. I guide you through dream analysis, uncovering the thoughts and feelings embedded in them.
Throughout all of this, our conversations flow, informative and deep. When I believe the time is right for dramatization, I move on to psychodrama and monodrama techniques developed by Jacob Moreno. We then shift from conversation to dramatization, embodying various roles. In this way, each session becomes a performance – a powerful self-exploratory journey, enabling transformation.
The ultimate result of such sessions is that you leave with new insights. New insights unleash new resources, and new resources create breakthroughs in personal development. This is a journey of growth and discovery; a testament to the resilience of the human psyche and proof that each person harbors sufficient potential for change.
